What is OrthoStreaming, and who is it for?
OrthoStreaming is an online orthodontic education platform designed for residents, postgraduate students, and practicing orthodontists. It offers structured, curriculum-based video lectures covering a wide range of orthodontic topics to support exam preparation and clinical understanding.
Who created OrthoStreaming and why?
OrthoStreaming was founded by Dr. Abed Alrahman Shqaidef, a Consultant Orthodontist and Program Director with extensive teaching experience. After years of supervising postgraduate students and examining for prestigious institutions like the Jordanian Board and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, he recognized the need for a smart, time-saving educational platform.
What topics are covered in OrthoStreaming?
The platform covers nearly every topic included in the British Orthodontic Society curriculum, along with supporting material from major orthodontic textbooks such as Proffit’s Contemporary Orthodontics, the Handbook of Orthodontics, and Planas’ Orthodontics. Advanced topics and clinical applications are also included.
Is OrthoStreaming suitable for exam preparation?
Absolutely. Whether you’re preparing for the MOrth exam, Jordanian Board, or other postgraduate assessments, OrthoStreaming is tailored to meet the needs of orthodontic professionals preparing for theoretical and clinical evaluations.
How is the content in OrthoStreaming different from reading textbooks or attending live courses?
OrthoStreaming condenses the most important information from leading orthodontic textbooks—such as Contemporary Orthodontics, the Handbook of Orthodontics, and Planas’ Orthodontics—into clear, concise video lectures. Instead of spending hours flipping through multiple resources, you get the essential concepts in an organized and clinically applicable format.
Will there be practical content, like wire bending or case walkthroughs?
Yes. In addition to theory-based lectures, OrthoStreaming is expanding into clinical demonstrations and advanced modules. This includes practical topics such as wire bending, use of TADs, cephalometric tracing, aligner mechanics, and case-based discussions.
